Setting up in Checkfront
To access the Windcave integration setup:
- Log in to your Checkfront account.
- Navigate to Manage in the main menu.
- Select Ecommerce Setup from the Manage menu to ensure the Payment tab is active.
- Locate the Windcave tile.
- Select it to open the integration settings.

Using the redirect method (PxPay)
With the redirect method (PxPay), Customers are redirected to a Windcave payment page when paying for their booking. This method is PCI SAQ A-compliant.
To set up your Windcave account to use the redirect method to process payment, follow these steps:
- Go to Manage > Ecommerce Setup > Payment.
- Open the Windcave Setup modal.
- Confirm that PxPay is selected as the Integration Mode.
- Enter your Windcave PxPay User ID and PxPay Key in the fields provided.
- Click the Activate button to turn on the integration.
Using integrated billing (PxPost)
To use Checkfront's built-in payment form, you must do the following:
- Activate the PxPost API through Windcave. If you need assistance with this, contact their support team.
- Go to Manage > Ecommerce Setup > Payment.
- Open the Windcave Setup modal.
- Select PxPost (Integrated Billing) as the Integration Mode.
- Enter your Windcave PxPost Username and PxPost Password in the fields provided.
- Click the Activate button to turn on your integration.
Checkfront no longer supports the PXPost (Integrated) method in the European Union (EU)/European Economic Area (EEA) or the UK.
Using the Hosted Fields (REST API) method
With Windcave's hosted fields solution, cardholder data is entered directly into Windcave-managed iframes. This method is PCI SAQ A-compliant.
- Go to Manage > Ecommerce Setup > Payment.
- Open the Windcave Setup modal.
- Confirm that Hosted Fields (Rest API) is selected as the Integration Mode.
- Enter your Windcave API Username and API Key in the fields provided.
- Click the Activate button to turn on the integration.
Using authorization only
If you would like to use our platform solely to process payment authorizations, you can do so using the Authorize only setting. This configuration verifies the card details and authorizes the transaction without capturing funds, allowing you to process the payment when the Customer arrives at your location.
- Go to Manage > Ecommerce Setup > Payment.
- Open the Windcave Setup modal.
- Select your Integration Mode as described above.
- Select the Authorize Only: Do not capture funds check box.
- Click the Activate button to turn on your integration.
Using sandbox/test mode
You can use this setting to test your configuration without processing live payments.
- Go to Manage > Ecommerce Setup > Payment.
- Open the Windcave Setup modal.
- Select your Integration Mode as described above.
- Click the Activate button to turn on your integration.
- Remember to uncheck this option when you are ready to go live!
