Ecommerce setup payment overview
Back to topThe Ecommerce Setup page of your account is split into three main sections: Payment, Settings, and Taxes.
By default, Checkfront operates in Reservation Only mode. This means no payment is required for a Customer to complete a booking. This is the simplest setup as it requires no third-party payment processing. If you would like to take advantage of real-time payment processing, you must first enable a payment provider. Checkfront integrates with many popular payment providers, including Stripe, Paypal, and Authorize.net.
You can enable a payment provider directly under the Payment tab (Manage > Ecommerce Setup) in your Checkfront dashboard.
Let's take a closer look at the Payment tab.
Setting up payment providers
Back to topThe Payment tab displays all available payment providers organized into Active Providers, those Available to those in your locale, Other Providers, and a Sandbox account for testing!
The payment providers most recommended by Checkfront based on your location, such as Checkfront Payments, Stripe, and Square, are displayed prominently at the top of the page.
The Search Providers feature at the top-right of the page provides a quick and easy-to-find list of your preferred payment provider by keyword search.
Managing your active providers
Back to topThe Active Providers category lists any activated payment providers. In most cases, you have a single primary payment provider.
Some combinations of payment providers support a secondary payment provider. These are identified by the plus (+) icon in the top-right corner of the payment provider tile.
This is helpful if you need to use one payment provider for your online payments and another for your in-person payments processed Staff-side.
Available within your country
Back to topThose payment providers available in your region are listed under the category of Available to {your country}, for example - Available to the United Kingdom.
Viewing other providers
Back to topThe list of Other Providers lists all other payment providers integrated with Checkfront.
Using the test payment provider
Back to topThe Sandbox category lists the Test Payment Provider, which you can use for your Checkfront account setup before going live with your payment provider.
