Adding maintenance time
Designate time between bookings to prepare the item or your Staff for the next Customer!
The time you add in this field automatically adds to the start and end of a booking and cannot be booked by anybody else.
The interval of time directly relates to your allocation setting. For example, if the item is allocated per day, the maintenance time is calculated in days.
Maintenance time does not apply to timeslots as they are completely self-configurable. |
Maintenance Time does not pull from aliased items, so each item within the configuration must have maintenance time configured under attributes. |

Aliasing items together (with video)
Aliasing enables you to link items together so that when one of them is booked, the inventory availability of the other is adjusted by the same amount.
An example of a need for aliasing would be for Accommodation package bookings. You might only have one Queen room available, but two different package options. If the first package option is booked, the room is booked, and inventory for both package items is reduced to zero. This means that nobody else can book the room during that same timeslot, thus no overbookings! |
Are you searching for the equivalent of aliasing for products instead? Learn more here: |
To alias to another item, enter the name of the other item in the search field and then select from the matching items returned.
If you change your mind, click the Remove Alias button to delete the connection.
We suggest that you do NOT remove aliased items after you have received bookings to avoid inventory overbooking issues. Please contact Technical Support before doing so to avoid issues if you need to change mid-season. |
Configuring simple items
Back to topFor items that are static goods, then toggle ON the Simple Item button.
Simple items cannot use parameters or seasonal and dynamic pricing (using events and discounts). Simple items can be Date Based or not depending on your business need. |
Examples of simple items such as merchandise or food and beverage offerings. |
Enabling date based inventory control
Back to topThis setting determines if your items are tied to a particular date. This option must be checked for your item to appear as booked on the Inventory Calendar (default setting).
Disabling this feature removes inventory tracking and custom availability options for this item, including allocation settings.
With this setting disabled, items must still be reserved from the Customer Booking page by selecting a particular day. |
Most offerings with Checkfront are date-based. Examples of date based inventory are offerings for tours, activities, rentals or accommodation. Merchandise is an example of an item that may NOT be date based inventory. For example, you may offer bottled water to your Customers but do not need to make a date-based booking out of this selection and can track inventory outside of Checkfront. |
Click the Next button in the bottom right of the screen to continue to the pricing configuration. You can also click on the Save button to record your progress and to return and complete creating or updating the item later.
