Assigning additional assets to your product

With this article, you can learn how to add assets from the same asset category or add assets from another category to your product from the Inventory tab of the Product Builder.

  • Your account must have access to products (Inventory > Products), a key feature of our new version of Checkfront. This feature is not available for use with items (Inventory > Items) in our classic version. → Learn more about products. 
     

 

Adding an asset pool from the same asset category

Add Asset Pool from Same Category

Do you need to add additional assets from the same asset category to your product? For example, you have two categories of kayaks that you pull your inventory from.

Click the +Add {asset name} button to open the list of assets within the same category.  If you don't see the +Add button, you must go to the Asset Builder to add more assets to that asset category.

 

Select Additional Assets Same Category

From the drop-down menu, select one or more assets to add your product.

 

Assets Same Category Example

For example, you can offer pedal kayaks in addition to fishing kayaks. The Guest can then be assigned a fishing kayak OR pedal kayak after booking from the Daily Manifest.

Add Assets Another

Your product might depend on multiple categories of assets for the experience, such as kayaks, life jackets and paddles.

You can click + Add assets to add additional categories of assets, which in turn, can have one or more asset pools linked.

 

And/Or releationship

Notice how the asset categories have 'AND' relationships, and the asset pools within have 'OR' relationships. 

 

Example

For example, the product booking includes the kayak, kayak paddles, AND life jackets.

You can offer kayaks (fishing OR pedal), kayak paddles (200 cm, 210 cm, OR 220 cm) AND life jackets (small, medium, OR large).

A Guest who has booked a kayak rental could then be assigned a fishing kayak with a 220cm paddle AND a large life jacket during check-in.
