Setting minimum and/or maximum numbers of guests per booking
Set restrictions on the number of Guests that can be added to a single booking. These restrictions are configured along with your availability events (Inventory > Products > Availability), as described in the following articles:
- Creating all day or nightly availability events for your product
- Creating timeslot availability events for your product
- Creating flex time availability events for your product
Setting minimum and maximum numbers by guest type
By default, guest types are optional. You can specify a minimum or maximum number of guests per booking by guest type. For example, you may wish to require at least one adult to attend with every booking where children and youth are attending.

Follow these steps to configure minimum or maximum numbers by guest type.
- Navigate to the Availability tab of the Product Builder (Inventory > Products).
- Find the Availability Events section.
- Add or edit an availability event.
- Scroll down to the Number of Guests per Booking section.
- Enable the Set a minimum and maximum number of guests per booking setting.
- Select the Min/Max by guest type option. from the drop-down menu.
- Choose to Apply to both customer & staff bookings, Apply to customer bookings only, or Apply to staff bookings only.
- Next, set a Minimum or Maximum for each guest type by selecting the checkbox next to each guest type and specifying the number in the field provided.
- Save your changes.
Available options depend on your Guest Visibility settings. For example, if your Guest types are not visible to Customers, then you are not given options to Apply to customer bookings only or Apply to both customer & staff bookings. |
Setting minimum and maximum numbers by guest total
You can specify a minimum or maximum per booking by guest total. For example, you may wish to limit the total number of guests per booking to two, but they can be any combination of Adults, Seniors, Youth, and Children.
Follow these steps to configure minimum or maximum numbers by guest total.
- Navigate to the Availability tab of the Product Builder (Inventory > Products).
- Find the Availability Events section.
- Add or edit an availability event.
- Scroll down to the Number of Guests per Booking section.
- Enable the Set a minimum and maximum number of guests per booking setting.
- Select the Min/Max by guest total option from the drop-down menu.
- Choose to Apply to both customer & staff bookings, Apply to customer bookings only, or Apply to staff bookings only.
- Next, set a Minimum or Maximum per booking by the Total number of guest types by selecting the checkbox next to each guest type and specifying the number in the field provided.
- Save your changes.
