Our Vantiv integration is no longer available to new accounts. Vantiv is now known as Worldpay. Please see the following article for information about the Worldpay offering.
Setup in CheckfrontBack to top
To enable Vantiv, login to your Checkfront Account Manager and navigate to Manage > Ecommerce Setup , making sure the Payment tab is selected.
Here you will see a list of available payment modules. Locate the Vantiv tile from the list. You will find it by clicking on the link labeled Available to [your country].
Hover over the tile, which will turn grey, and click.
This will open the Vantiv activation window, as pictured above. There are two options to choose from here.
If you already have a Vantiv account, click on the second link, labeled "click here" (1) to input your login details.
You will need to input your Vantiv Merchant ID (1) and the password provided by Vantiv when you created an account with them (2).
If you DON'T already have a Vantiv account, click on the first link, labeled "this link" (2) to begin the onboarding process with Vantiv. See below for more details.

Assuming you don't already have a Vantiv account, you will need to click on the first link, as described above. After doing so, you will be presented with the Vantiv Onboarding Application.
Once you've filled out the form, scroll to the bottom and click the button labeled Agree and Submit to Vantiv for Review.
Speed it up:
There are only five required fields to get the ball rolling. After reviewing your application, Vantiv will contact you for any additional information they require.
The more information you provide initially, the faster the signup process will go, so it's better to spend a little more time now and fill out as much of the application as you can.
When Vantiv has processed and accepted your application you will receive an email from them containing the login details you need to access their management profile.
You will need the password contained in that email to activate the Vantiv Payment Providers add-on in Checkfront. Go back and follow the process outlined above to complete the setup process.
Payments with Vantiv & RebillingBack to top
Since Vantiv is a redirect Payment Providers and doesn't include a virtual terminal, it's not currently possible to process the initial payment on an invoice from the Checkfront Booking Manager. Rather, the customer must make the first payment or deposit when they initially make their booking online.
Payments via Vantiv are tokenized in that Checkfront does not receive any credit card details from Vantiv. What Vantiv does is create a token that is attached to the booking. A subsequent payment can, therefore, be initiated via the Checkfront Booking Manager through the invoice transactions tab.
This payment will be sent to Vantiv where they will match the token and bill the customer's credit card. This enables you to collect the deposit when a customer books online and then charge the balance at the time you see fit without requiring the customer to provide credit card details or make the payment themselves.
Tokens are valid for 6 months, so rebilling will not be possible outside this window.

Once a tokenized payment has been recorded, staff are able to process a refund directly through the Checkfront Booking Manager. Click for details on how to process a refund.

Sandbox ModeBack to top
It is recommended you conduct a thorough test of the booking process before you begin using the Vantiv Payment Provider in a live environment.
To do so, check the box labeled Use Sandbox Mode and use the test credit card numbers below when making some sample bookings to add fake payments to your system.
Be sure to uncheck the sandbox mode when you are ready to start receiving live payments!
