Configuring Advanced Field Settings
Back to topThe Advanced tab houses settings that determine whether the field is specific for selecting guest types or items/products.
Making form fields guest type specific
The Guest Type Specific switch enables the option to select the parameters to which the guest field applies.
For example, you may wish to ask a question of your adult Guests, which doesn't apply to children.
In such a scenario, you would turn on the Guest Type Specific switch to reveal your list of linked parameters and then check the Adults parameter, leaving Children unchecked.
If you have many parameters listed, you quickly update your fields by clicking Select All or Select None.
The example above illustrates how you can identify a Guest-specific field in your Booking Manager.
If you turn off the Guest Type Specific switch, the system assumes you wish all parameters to be applied to the Guest field you are creating/editing. Leaving the switch turned off does not mean that the field is inactive. |
Making guest form fields product/item specific
With the Product/Item Specific switch, you can select specific categories and/or individual products/items to which the field you are creating/editing should be applied.
For instance, if you are an accommodation provider, you may ask your Guests about staying in a particular type of room.
By selecting the room(s) after activating the switch, you ensure that this question is only shown to Guests who are part of a booking on those products/items.
The field you have configured now only appears during checkout when the Customer adds an item/product to a booking. Product/item-specific fields are identified in your Booking Manager by the label shown in the screenshot above.
If you turn off the product/item-specific switch, the system assumes you wish all products/items to be applied to the guest field you are creating/editing. So, if you only wish to apply the field to certain products/items, you must activate the switch and select the appropriate products/items from the options provided. Leaving the switch turned off does not mean that the field is inactive. |
