(Product) Name |
The name of your offering. This name is visible to Guests and Staff when making a booking. This is also the name used internally within reports. This is the item name for those familiar with our Classic Items version.

SKU |
This is the unique identifier for the product. By default, this string includes the product name and a unique combination of letters and numbers but can be customized. This is a new feature not supported by Classic Items.

Category |
Product categories allow you to group like products on the booking page and for reporting purposes. For those familiar with items, these equate to item categories. |

Category Weight |
Category weight refers to how high the category of products displays on your Booking Page. This equates to the category weight setting for Classic Items. |

|
Visibility |
Product visibility determines who can view and book your products. This equates to the item visibility setting for Classic Items. |
Products are visible to one of the three audiences.
|

|
Sort Order |
The order in which your product displays within a category on your Booking page. This equates to the sort order setting for Classic Items. |
By default, products are displayed in descending order - the higher the number, the more prominent the placement of the offering. Products can be displayed in ascending order via Booking Page layout settings. |

Inventory Type |
Inventory type conveys the maximum number of inventory that can be booked simultaneously. Assets are a new feature and improvement upon how inventory was managed with Classic Items. |
Products are based on one of three inventory types:
|

Assets |
Your product depends on these resources (equipment, spaces, modes of transportation...) to be booked. Individual assets are tracked by their SKU. This feature replaces the need for aliased items and hidden required packages in our Classic Items version. |

Asset Pools |
Asset pools allow you to group your assets, specifying the category, quantity, and capacity of those assets in the process. This improves upon our Classic Items version, which had no resource management features. |

Asset Category |
Asset categories allow you to generally classify your asset pools which helps to organize your assets and minimize the complexity of applying assets to products. This improves upon our Classic Items version, which had no resource management features. |
For example:

|
(Asset) Quantity |
This is the number of assets included in this asset pool. Products can then be configured based on the quantity of assets available so that they are priced per asset and private to each booking. This improves upon our Classic Items version, which had no resource management features. |

This is the number that the asset can contain. This considers how many seats or spaces the asset can support. Assets with a capacity of greater than one can support more than one Guest booking. This improves upon our Classic Items version, which had no resource management features. |

(Asset) Maintenance Time |
Configured on the asset pool. This is the time at the beginning and end of each booking set aside for asset maintenance.

For example: if you need to inflate bike tires, rinse out kayaks, service buses, or sanitize life jackets. |

Availability |
Availability determines when and how the product can be booked using availability events. This builds on how availability was handled with our Classic Items version. |
Base options include:
|

Availability Events |
Used to determine when the product is available for booking based on specific dates. Includes the option to modify the price, apply rules and set minimum and maximum Guests per booking. This is commonly used for scheduling seasonal, weekly, or single-day availability. This is an improvement on our Classic Items events feature. |

Closure Events |
A type of availability event, closures allow you to schedule when products are closed for booking. These equate to Classic Items closure events. |

|
Guest types |
Guest types with a quantity control determine to whom and how many people your product is available. These are an improvement on our Classic Items item parameters. |
For example: You can provide a simple option for number of Guests.
Or provide several options that correspond to specific criteria such as age.

| Product Pricing | |||
|
Rate Type |
How the price of a product is calculated when the product is added to a booking. This is equivalent to the pricing options available with Classic Items. |
Choose to calculate Per Allocation (Per day, per hour, per timeslot...) or Per Booking. |
|
|
Custom Rates |
Configure pricing increases or decreases, by dollar value or percentage, based on the booking duration and applied to the base rate configured for your product. This is a streamlined version of how tiered pricing worked with Classic Items. |
Choose between single and multiple duration rates. |
|
|
Base Rates |
These are the primary rates associated with your product. Availability rates and custom rates can be applied to base rates to modify the price. These provide the same flexibility as base prices, pricing by parameter and group pricing with items.
