    Hi Phillip and Patrick,

Maintaining a current customer UI is undoubtedly important as all types of businesses shift to e-commerce. As you may know, we're not currently making these kinds of improvements but we will keep this particular idea of more visual add-on (upsell) selection in mind when we can get started on an overhaul specific to the customer experience.

Until then, we're looking forward to continuing to collect suggestions related to customer experience UI improvements, especially through our forums.

Thank you for sharing your ideas!

Completely agree with this, as the OP said, many of our customers don't even see our available add-ons, many of which can only be added with advance notice, and cannot simply be changed at the event date. I think an extremely easy short-term solution would be to simply allow thumbnail images to be uploaded for each addon. Even with a very small image, you could upload an icon representing the addon.

    i.e.

'Need Airport Transportation?' - Could upload a small icon of a plane
'Bringing a Pet?' - Small icon of a dog.

It seems like the functionality for a thumbnail is already written into the system with the '+' sign next to the addon, Checkfront could even add the functionality of different small icons to choose from that could represent each item.

Additionally, on the subject of improved addon functionality, why don't we have a single click method of removing selected addons? Once the addon is selected, if the customer decides they don't want the addon, there should be a little red 'x' somewhere on the addon line to simply remove the addon from their reservation without having to click on the addon, then navigate to the pop-up window and click 'Remove'.

A couple of small changes would make a huge difference during the checkout flow.

    Thanks for listening Checkfront!

I get this problem a lot, if I add an "add on" the customer easily misses it - not just because of the lack of thumbnail but the customer expects that when they reach "the shopping basket" they will have already added everthing they need to add - the "add ons" could do with being an interim question that is asked before the customer reaches the payment point.

Totally agreed - you mention that you are not working on the UI - why? It is needed

I would like to add that it would be great to have Upsells display in the Checkout as well as Add Ons.  For example we have several variations of activities that have different price points.  It would be great if the customer starts to book an item, then see's in the checkout that there are more advanced activities.  They could then switch the booking to this item with there customer details remaining.  I've seen this kind of upsell in several e-commerce platforms in the way of 'you may also like' or 'related' products.

We've tried adding products as add ons, but inventory is deducted from both items, so it makes it very hard to see what the customer has actually booked.

I totally agree with this post. Now that the new Product and Upsells system is now operational, I would like CF to revisit the booking process and really improve the look and feel of the UI:

After entering the number of guests in a booking, the Checkfront Booking Flow takes customers and clients directly to the Booking Form where clients are (hopefully) focused on entering their name and email and then clicking Continue.

This is great as it is a simple process. However, when Upsells are configured, they are there for a reason. And sometimes customers must make intelligent decisions before confirming.

It would be much better if (optionally per upsell), the existing Upsell Product pop up could be shown to customers (and staff) presenting the details about each Upsell in turn so that customers (and staff) could be forced to either confirm pre-selected products or add optional ones.

I'm sure this would increase sales of Upsells and also result in more accurate bookings.

Totally agree with Steve Venton- a pop up with configurable add-ons/upsells would be great, I think I'd be happy if it were an additional page in this flow too. Cart > Upsells > Booking Form > Payment

I agree, an additional page in the flow would be great and it would keep things simple.

100%.  I'm evaluating this platform for my company to use but this isn't really usable as it currently exists for our group booking business.  If the customer journey could be improved / modernized we might actually sign on.
