Forum's activity: New vs Recent posts
Hi all,
I have just noticed that when you are on the forum, the lists of threads are sorted by "Newest post" by default.
If you want to see the latest posts including comments (reply to existing post), you need to sort by "Recent activity".
Unfortunately, as you navigate through the forum, the sorting order reverts to the default, showing the newest posts first, which mean that if someone comments on an "old" post, it won't appear at the top, so you'll miss it all together...
CHECKFRONT: can you please fix the sorting order to remember the selected sorting order ?
Until then, can you pin this post on top so new users will be aware of the issue ?
Thanks

Hi Dedric,
Great point! It looks like there is not a way for us to allow the system to remember the Sort order that you have selected, yet.
I have found that this sorting is based on the URL, meaning that you can bookmark the specific URL to access that page after logging in through Checkfront.
Here is the URL: https://support.checkfront.com/hc/en-us/community/posts?sort_by=recent_activity.
This may be a temporary solution, while we continue adding improvements to the Community. -
I appreciate your suggestion regarding the bookmark, but as I explained in my original post, as soon as you navigate the forum, the sorting order preference will be reverted to "newest post" first...
So not convenient at all. And I won't create 1 bookmark for each section of the forum!
I don't know which Service Provider you use to operate the forum, but I would hope they'd be happy to help and find an acceptable solution if you contact them.
Thanks

The problem behind this issue is not only the inconvenience it produces, but it's also about the fact that (I'm guessing) most users won't realise this (or will forget while using the forum, like I do), and while they check for the latest posts and think they've caught up with the forum's activity, they will in fact miss all new replies to "older" posts...
So then in order to get your message across, instead of replying, people will be tempted to create new posts, resulting in duplicates...
