    Hey there, Dedric,

    As you've noticed, there isn't currently a booking created date email variable.

    Could you please provide a bit more detail about how you'd use it if it were to be added as an option?

    Many thanks!

    I have indeed noticed there isn't a booking created date email variable, hence my request here.

    Currently, there are 3 variables:

    • {$BOOKING_DATE}
    • {$BOOKING_START_DATE}
    • {$BOOKING_END_DATE}

    with {$BOOKING_DATE} being the concatenation of {$BOOKING_START_DATE} and {$BOOKING_END_DATE} (so a bit of redundancy)

    {$BOOKING_DATE} refers to when the booking starts.

    I need a variable that represents the date at which the booking was created, ie, when the customer submitted his booking request.

    This is already a data included in a booking, and presented in the top right box, next to Booking ID, Booking Date and Total:

    It should be added to the list of already existing email variables, as seen here:

    https://support.checkfront.com/hc/en-us/articles/360007624653-Notifications-Email-Booking-Status-Email-Variables

    .Thanks

    I'm not sure what to say, as it's pretty self explaining.

    I feel this is not any difference to some of the date-related email variable that already exist.

    I can only add that this {$BOOKING_CREATED_DATE} should be presented in the date format as {$BOOKING_START_DATE} and {$BOOKING_END_DATE} (ie based on Locale System date format).

    Thanks for your additional insight, Dedric!

    It sounds like you'd simply like to reference when they created their booking within your email messaging. We'll continue to make a note of any additional interest here and hopefully, the additional email variable will be considered by our Product team in the future.

    wow! is it really that difficult ? I mean, there is already the system in place, since very similar email variables already exist.

    Does that require that much work ?….

    Hey Dedric,

    Just a heads up, we've held your most recent comment back as it doesn't follow our guidelines or add value to the discussion. Thanks for your understanding as we work to build a strong, positive customer community!

    If you believe this adds value to the topic and want further review of this decision, we're happy to chat more about that.

    Can you please let me know how am I supposed to react to this ?

    • if I call it "censorship", you'll probably just gonna block me
    • if I took the time to post it, it's surely because it meant something for me, and I was hoping to get more insight on why my initial request is [apparently] a bigger deal to CheckFront than it seems [to me].

    (Bottom line being that if you don't like what I say, you'll just hide my post…)

    So, do I think you should have held up my post: of course not!

    This is supposed to be a Community forum, where CheckFront users can give their feedback and exchange ideas.

    Positive feedback flatters the ego, and reassures that things are going the right way. But negative feedback is equally (if not more) an opportunity to improve and readjust.

    Now if, with this new forum, we have lost the ability to freely express ourselves, please let the community know, and I won't waste my time anymore.

    I wonder what, in my comment, made it feel so unplatable that you had to react the way you did. This is a genuine question, not a nasty one.

    To conclude, and get back on the topic in a constructive manner, I just have one simple question; what are the odds to see this email variable becoming available soon ?

    Hi Dedric,

    If you really feel that this comment adds value to this conversations, we're happy to review it again. It was held back based on the tone of language used. We really want to create a positive environment where everyone feels comfortable engaging with other customers and we felt that the tone in this comment might sway people away from joining in the conversation.

    To answer your question, yours is the only current request for the additional "Notification: Email Variable BOOKING_CREATION_DATE" which means the odds are very low that development resources would be redirected (no matter how small or quick you believe the work to be) to adding this in the near future.

    We almost agree!

    We always want to hear all feedback, regardless of the type. The difference here is that when it comes to gaps or friction points in Checkfront, we're looking for constructive feedback that helps us learn who you are, what you need, and why.

    How you can best provide that and what we don't tolerate is outlined in our Community Guidelines

    But, you know this already. We've had this chat many times :)

    Thanks for the discussion, you do keep us on our toes! Have a good weekend.

    So I see that you have taken the initiative to review the post you originally held back, and decided to publish it:

    I was originally going to continue in this original thread, but in order to not mix 2 different matters, I've created a "follow up" on a separate thread (in the more adequate category of the forum).
