New Inventory Calendar Feedback
AnsweredJust a quick bit of feedback - we use the inventory on our mobile phones, mainly to check how many people are on sessions through the day - and on upcoming days. The new calendar is very difficult to see on a mobile phone screen as it needs too much scrolling - hope the old one doesn't get removed any time soon!

Hey Cyndie, thanks for taking the time to submit your feedback!
Would you be able to elaborate on what aspects of the old Inventory Calendar you prefer and any pain points you are currently experiencing with the new Inventory Calendar?
This additional insight will help our Product team understand what features are important to you and better prioritize any future improvements.
Thanks! -
Actually, the entire display on the original calendar is easier to read and more user friendly. The different colors for inventory (green, yellow, red) based on what's still available is easy for "at a glance". Plus just having just the number available compared to the new way that has the available/total is easier. The new available/total is small, hard to read and I find it a pain to have to click on each item to see the availability. If I need to do a quick edit, there is just 1 step on the old version.

This is Gary from Coastal Bliss Adventures. I also don't like the new inventory calendar. I find it completely useless. I have a long list of items and the dates scroll up with the screen, so anything below the page fold has the date disappear, so I'm scrolling up and down to try to align date with item-impossible!
Both the old and the new inventory calendar have all categories expanded on screen refresh. Please put in a setting so that all categories can be collapsed from the start and then expanded as needed. The automatically expanded feature also makes using this calendar just too time consuming and complicated.
I like the look okay on the new calendar, but I'm afraid that it is also too big on the screen. We use a smallish tablet at our store and the new calendar does not show up well there. Yes the different colours were helpful. I would rather have them continue and not lose them.
For both calendars, and having a long list of categories and items, the horizontal scroll bar is in a poor position for us. If we set to a timeframe that is wider than the screen, we are scrolling down to shift to later dates, then scrolling back up to find our item again. Why not lock the date area (like the old calendar) and have the categories/items scroll up under it, but also with a locked horizontal scroll bar just below the dates. That would stop from having to scroll down to scroll right, then scroll back up.
Thanks.

Hi Gary from Cowichan Bay Kayaking
Thanks for this feedback.
For your feedback re: "calendar have all categories expanded on-screen refresh." There is a Saved Filters setting under your User Account (top right corner) and Profile.
This works on all views and remembers your filters to help improve your workflow. Thanks!

Eh...I've had to swap to the new inventory system and I hate it because it doesn’t have overall category updates (15 / 1000 tixs) like items, so at a glance it’s not as easy to see which items/times are sold out. And the coloured boxes for each session that change based on capacity were infinitely more superior to the very delicate coloured text in the new calendar. Especially when you have a light font that is yellow on a white background…not well thought out there. Elegant….not practical.
Ultimately it just needs to be easy and quick to look at. That's the whole idea of the overall view and what i LOVED about the old inventory.#bringbackthecolouredboxes :-DIn any case…no choice now so we’ll just deal with what is put in front of us…probably much like you guys lolSuggestions for dev:- Have category Sold / Capacity numbers like each event does. So a total of all items in that category..and then similar in the items for time slots for example. Sa
- Have coloured boxes not coloured text.
- Make the numbers a heavier typeface (this should be fairly easy I would think) as a temp fix..and even ongoing.
- Have the ability to hide inactive items from the list within the timeframe being searched (shown with the image example attached.
- A sort by capacity sold / % of each even sold so that if there are 50 items, and only 20 are active, the 20 active ones are at the top, regardless of time or name. And of them, they can be sorted by capacity sold. I say this as of the 100 items I have, I literally have one day where there is 1 item right at the very bottom. Or even an option to sort by this or alphabetically etc.
- Why blue for full vacancy? Green, orange, red. Made so much sense. Traffic lights. No need to think or reinvent the wheel.
This is all just feedback. Thought I’d mash it up to show how crazy it is to try and find and look at the inventory currently.
CURRENT STYLE - Showing EVERY item (blue boxes and thicker text)
UPDATED STYLE - removing items not relevant to dates being viewed. -
While it's nice to see some minor improvements to the new calendar happening 20 months later, I'm concerned that the two main problems introduced by the new calendar are still present:
First, Item Events that restrict availability still no longer appear on the new calendar. This means I would have to check multiple locations to determine booking availability instead of being able to see it all in one place. Secondly, each booking creates multiple calendar entries so the new calendar view is significantly more cluttered. I'll stick with the old calendar for now.
