    Hi all 👋

Just dropping in to let you know that we have now added the ability to discount Gift Certificates! We've posted more details in the community here  or you can learn more in this knowledge base article .

    Cheers!

Hi Nic. I also found this confusing at the start. I agree that Discount Codes and Gift Certificates could be processed more logically but Gift Certificates are really a method of payment not a discount.

Perhaps a compromise would be to have more customised messaging that can be presented to clients on the booking form so that we can inform them of choices at later stages in the booking process...

It would be handy, if we could change the text on [Apply Promo or Voucher] since covid-19 hit we are experiencing a lot of office time trying to communicate that the Certificate is not a Voucher, we even write all the instructions on the email, which no one reads. Is it possible to change the wording to suit our needs?

Also the code for changing colour was a game changer for Groupon bookings

    Hi Mark,

To change the wording you can use the private translation, for that go to

    • Manage > Languages: Checkfront Translationscreate a new private copy (if you do not have one already) of your selected language.
    • Next, enter in the search ''Apply Promo or Voucher". Enter your wording in the "Value"
    • Now we will go to Manage > Setup > Locale and choose this language as the main system language to use.

I hope that helps. Feel free to reach out to us at support@checkfront.com for any questions.

Agreed that the simple fix is to have Checkfront add a disclaimer right where it says “Apply promo or voucher”. The above-mentioned language work-around is messy, especially when running a bilingual or multi-language business! Just add the words “(Not for gift certificate redemption)”
