Default Assets
Currently when bookings come in, the asset assigned automatically is the largest of the assets. For example, 2 people book a wine tour - 2 assets are attached to this tour - a 10 capacity van and a 7 capacity van - the system takes this 2 person booking and assigns it to the 10 capacity van.
Now if you go into the daily manifest, technically no asset is assigned, this needs to be done manually (annoying), but if a 2 person booking comes in and you go to that same date on the calendar it will show only 7 qty available, which means the system has removed the 10qty asset for the 2 person booking. This is a flaw.
For private tours - tours with a single asset per booking - this does not make sense. A booking that is the qty of the smallest asset or less should be automatically assigned to the smallest asset it fits in. Having to manually assign an asset to each booking is redundant.
As this system is already defaulting to the larger asset, I don't see it being difficult to change the code to default to the smallest. Or be able to set a primary asset and secondary, tertiary, etc... so the system automatically assigns bookings to the asset with adequate qty that is ranked highest.

I'm having the same problem. We have a truck (4 person capacity) and a van (14 person capacity). Even when a group of ≤4 people book a shuttle, Checkfront automatically assigns the 14-person van first. I don't remember this being an issue in the past - has something changed? It's very frustrating to have to remember to assign the correct asset immediately after creating a booking, not to mention error-prone. If we forget to assign the smaller asset to a small group, the system makes shuttles unavailable for larger groups, which is a major problem.
Please consider Mary's excellent suggestions!
