Accessing the shortcode generator for the WordPress plugin

After installing the Checkfront WordPress plugin, you're ready to access the shortcode generator — the tool that lets you customize and embed your booking portal. You can launch it from two places: directly within WordPress, or from your Checkfront account.

  • Manage > Integrations > Website Integration > WordPress
     

What more do I need to use this feature?

  • Admin permissions to manage integrations.
  • WordPress.com account with a Business plan or a hosted website with the free WordPress.org software.
  • Ability to copy and paste into your website code or have some helpful person do this for you!
     

Which Checkfront version supports this feature - classic items, classic products, or both?

Launching the shortcode generator

The next step in setting up your Wordpress plugin is to generate the shortcode to embed the Checkfront booking portal into a page within your website. We need to start by launching the shortcode generator.

 

Launching from Wordpress

If you are still on the Setup screen in WordPress, look for the white box labeled Use, then click the Launch Shortcode Generator button inside it.

 

Launching from Checkfront Integrations

Alternatively, you can access the same Shortcode Generator through your Checkfront backend.

Go to Website Integration (Manage > Integrations > Website Integration) and click on the WordPress tile to access the code generator.

You notice a link to Show more options at the bottom of the page, just above the Generate Code button. These are slightly more advanced features, which we look at in a subsequent article in this series.
