With the shortcode generator open, you can start shaping how your booking portal looks and behaves. This article walks you through the basic options — including what inventory to display, how to apply a discount, and how to adjust the font and default start date — so your portal is ready for Customers.
Learn how to configure basic options for the WordPress plugin, including enabling the search bar, selecting inventory to display, using discounts, choosing font color and family, and setting the calendar date.

Accessing WordPress Settings
- Go to Manage > Integrations > Website Integration.
- Click the WordPress listing.
- Customize the settings described in detail below.
Configuring category display options
You can choose whether to display item/product categories as a Dropdown menu or Tabs.
Displaying categories as a dropdown menu
Let's look at the Category Display: Dropdown option. This option lists categories within a dropdown menu on your WordPress plugin Booking Page with All Categories selected by default, as shown above.
Your Customers can refine the list of items or products displayed by selecting a specific category. This is a space-saver if you have lots of categories to list!
Displaying categories as tabs
Alternatively, you can select Category Display: Tabs.
This presents categories as tabs that can be selected to reveal related item/product listings. This is a user-friendly option if you have space, as category options are readily available... and the tabs look pretty stylish, too!
Hiding the search, calendar and date picker features
The search, calendar, and date picker features help bookers find the right item or product to book. You can turn these off using the settings below.
- Hide search & calendar Use this option to display a simpler booking form on your website. When turned on, only the date picker is shown, allowing Customers to filter items or products by start date.
- Hide date pickers Use this option to hide the date pickers as well. Deselect this option to show them again.
Selecting inventory to display
Are you placing the WordPress plugin code onto a webpage for specific items/products? Then, you can use the Display option to select which ones should be included on the page.
Uncheck the box labeled All Items and Categories for items or All Products and Categories for products to reveal the individual items/products. Select the ones you like by checking each one in turn.
All other items/products are filtered from the WordPress plugin, providing an uncluttered view of the select offerings!
Using automatic discounts

Discount code not functioning with WordPress The Discount Code option does not currently function with the WordPress plugin. If you want to add an automatic discount to your website booking page, consider using the Booking Widget feature instead. |
Determining font color
Font Color is a self-explanatory option! If you wish, you can change the text color in the WordPress plugin using the color picker or by entering its hexadecimal code.
Choosing font family
Does your website use a specific font family, such as Arial or Tahoma? Then enter the font family name here.
Once published, the WordPress plugin uses this font. If left blank, the WordPress plugin uses the same font (and font back-ups) as the Booking Page: Helvetica Neue, Helvetica, Roboto, Arial, and sans-serif.
Different browsers support different fonts. All major browsers support web-safe fonts, which are more likely to work than others!
Selecting the default calendar date
Do you need a specific start date selected by default? Then, pick a default calendar Date in the future. Click on the field to open the calendar and select your date. You can use the small black arrows to advance the months back and forth.
This fast-forwards the WordPress plugin so that a specific start date is selected by default instead of the current date. This option enables the Customer to land on a specific future date. The Customer can still select another available date to book.
