Custom booking statuses let you tailor Checkfront to your unique business workflow.
They help you organize and track bookings beyond the default options, such as adding statuses like Reschedule, On Hold, or Waiting for Payment, so you can manage every stage of your booking process with greater flexibility.

What are custom booking statuses?
A custom status can be:
- Locked — Keeps the item’s inventory reserved and unavailable for rebooking.
- Unlocked — Frees inventory, allowing it to be rebooked while still tracking the booking record
How to create or edit a custom status
- Go to Manage > Layout > Statuses.
- Click Create New Status.
- Enter a name (e.g., Reschedule, Awaiting Confirmation).
- Choose whether the status should be Locked or Unlocked.
- Locked = holds inventory.
- Unlocked = releases inventory.
- Select a color to help staff recognize it quickly.
- Click the Save button.
To edit or reorder existing custom statuses:
- Click the status name to edit it.
- Adjust color, lock setting, or display order as needed.
- Click the Save button to apply changes.
