Configuring description settings
The following configuration settings are available within the Additional Options section.
Accessing Additional Options ↓
Below the Gift Certificate section with date settings is a link labeled Additional Options.
Clicking the link or the drop-down triangle reveals more customization options, as detailed below.
Hiding the amount on the PDF
With this setting, you control whether or not the gift certificate amount appears in the PDF emailed to the recipient. When the gift certificate is turned on, the price does not appear in the email.
Similar options are provided when issuing a Staff-side Gift Certificate or editing an existing gift certificate.

Setting does not affect email variables This setting does not affect the email variables in the notification, such as {$GIFTCERT_TOTAL} or {$GIFTCERT_BALANCE}. These must be removed from the email template if you don't want the information conveyed via the variables. Learn more about customizing email notifications here: |
Allowing customized delivery dates
You can set the gift certificate to be valid from the delivery date, rather than basing its validity on the date of purchase.
- Select the Yes button under the Allow customised date setting.
- The system then automatically changes the:
- Gift Certificate Start Date setting from Purchase Date to Delivery Date.
- Gift Certificate Expiry Date setting from Days after Purchase to Days after Delivery.
- When a Customer purchases a gift certificate through the system, they can choose a delivery date.
For example, if today is September 1st and a family member's birthday is September 14th, the Customer can purchase the gift certificate today and have it emailed on the 14th.
Specifying gift certificate visibility
Here, you can select the Visibility for your gift certificate.
- Everyone - select this option to make your gift certificate visible for booking on your website.
- Staff Only - select this option if you want the gift certificate to be visible only to your Staff Members and in the Staff-only pages of Checkfront.
Determining gift certificate sort order
Determine where your gift certificate appears on your inventory and booking pages with the Sort Order setting.
Entering a higher number in the Sort Order field moves the template higher in the list.
