Managing sort order settings for booking page layouts

Ensure your most important items/products appear at the top of your Booking page. Sort order settings let you control the order in which the system displays inventory,  improving the Customer experience and guiding them toward your priorities.

Hero Page layout

The following instructions use the Hero Page layout as an example. However, the Sort by setting also works for deciding ordering within the Detail Page.

With the Sorting setting, you can decide whether your items/products display in ascending (or descending) order within the categories on your Booking Page.

By default, the system does not select the Sorting setting. Items/products display in descending order (highest to lowest) based on the numerical values assigned to the items/products within their related builder settings.

The higher the sort order of an item/product, the higher it is listed within its category on the Booking Page. See the following example.

You can reverse the results by selecting the option Use ascending weights so that Sorting switches to ascending order (lowest to highest). The lower the sort order, the higher the offering is listed.

Configuring sort order

You can configure the numerical sort order value for items within the Item Builder (Inventory > Items). 

You can configure the numerical sort order value for products within the Product Builder (Inventory > Products).

How to configure sort order (step-by-step)

  1. Go to Manage > Layout > Booking Page.
  2. Scroll to the Sorting section.
  3. To reverse the default order, check the box for Use ascending weights.
  4. Ensure each item/product has a sort order value set in the Item or Product Builder (e.g., Inventory > Items > Item Builder).
  5. Click the Save button to apply changes.
  6. Preview your booking page to confirm items appear in the desired order.
