Accessing the assets panel
Back to topTo assign assets for a booking, start by selecting the + Assign button. This button opens the assignment side panel, where you can manage your assignment for the activity.
At the top of the panel, you can find a daily summary of the:
- Number of bookings for product
- Number of Guests
- Total sales you've received for the product (e.g. tour, activity, rental, accommodation)
Private vs Shared Assets
Back to topDepending on your asset configuration, the assets displayed are either private to the booking (e.g. a kayak rental) or shared across more than one booking (e.g. a public tour bus with a limited number of seats).

Auto-assign vs Manual assignment
Back to topCheckfront checks the number of bookings coming in against the number of assets you have available and reserves assets in the background.
If you need to track specific resources (e.g. small vs medium life jackets) in relation to Guests, then you can have your Staff assign these via the Daily Manifest. Here you have the option to auto-assign or manually assign the assets.
- Auto assign automatically assigns the next available asset in sequence. This saves time and effort if no unique needs are satisfied when assigning the resource, e.g. all your life jackets are one-size-fits-all.
- Manual assignment requires your Staff to select resources to book. Manual assignment is helpful if more consideration needs to be given when assigning assets (e.g. the Guest needs a small life jacket).
Each assignment section has assets that you can assign to a booking. If you don't want to assign all the assets at once, click Save and exit the assignment panel back to your Daily Manifest. |
Manually assigning private resources to a booking
Back to topIf the product is one where Guests from different bookings do not share the capacity of your resources, such as a private 'Kayak Rental' that uses a kayak, then each booking is listed in the assignment side panel. Assets assigned are privately booked for the Guests associated with each booking.
Manually assigning shared resources to a booking
Back to topIf the product is one where Guests from different bookings share the capacity of your resources, such as a 'Bus Tour' that uses a 'Shuttle Bus', then a Shared Resources section is shown on the assignment side panel. Assigning assets to the Shared Resources section assigns the resources shared between multiple bookings for the product.
The total number of available and consumed 'seats' for that shared asset is displayed next to the asset name.
Auto-assign shared resources to a booking
Back to topTo automatically assign the next asset(s) in sequence, click the Auto Assign button, then save your changes. Simple as that!
Assets are assigned in sequential order starting from the top of the list presented (e.g. Kayaks: kayak_01, kayak_02...). If you have configured more than one group of assets to select from (an OR configuration), for example, blue kayaks and red kayaks, then the assets are assigned in sequential order based on the order in which you have created the asset groups. The assignment process starts with the first configured group (e.g. Kayaks: blue_kayak_01, blue_kayak_02, and blue_kayak_03, then red_kayak_01, red_kayak_02, and red kayak_03). If there is a more complex logic behind the choice, then you must manually assign the assets. |
Expanding/collapsing rows of assignments
Back to topClick on the Expand/Collapse icon within the Assignment Panel to quickly and easily expand and collapse the assignment list sections in one move! This is helpful if you have a long list of assignments for the day.
