Creating taxes for products
Back to topDo you need to create a new tax to add to a new or existing product? If so, then this is easy to do!
Creating taxes from the product builder
Back to topTaxes are applied from the product's Taxes section under the Pricing tab. To set up a new tax in this area, select + Create New.
From the Create Tax modal...
- Enter the Tax name. This is displayed on invoices and receipts.
- Specify the tax Amount. This can be a flat amount ($) or a percent (%).
- Provide the Account Number. This optional number is displayed on invoices.
- Apply taxes to All customers (default), Only customers with {your county}, Only customers within {your country}, or only international customers.
- Choose the calculation method, Compound and/or Inclusive. Compound taxes are applied on top of earlier taxes with a lower display order. Inclusive taxes are already included in the product's asking price.
- Determine the Display Order of the tax when more than one tax is configured. This is also important for calculating compound taxes.
- Apply To one or more Products. By default, the tax is applied to the product in focus. You can choose to Select All products or manually choose additional products. Select None clears your selections.
Select Save when done to apply the new tax.
How do I edit a tax? Once you have created and applied a tax, you can edit the tax from the Taxes tab of the Ecommerce Setup page (Manage > Ecommerce Setup). |
