Specifying the product's default sales item and tax
Back to top
If QuickBooks Online is already connected to your account, you can view and specify sales items and sales tax override settings.
Each product uses the sales item and sales tax set in your QuickBooks Online integration settings. Choose a different sales item or tax here only if this product needs to be recorded differently in QuickBooks Online, for example, a different income account or tax rate.
- Go to Inventory > Products > Products and edit the product.
- Navigate to the product's Advanced tab.
- Select the QuickBooks Online tile in the Additional Product Settings/Integrations section.
- In the pop-up that appears, open the QuickBooks Sales Item menu.
- Choose the applicable sales item from the list.
- Next, open the QuickBooks Sales Tax menu.
- Choose the applicable sales tax from the list.
- Select Done.
Leave a menu set to Use Default to use the default sales item or tax from your QuickBooks Online settings.
Make sure the QuickBooks Online tax code matches the product's tax setup in Checkfront, including whether the tax is inclusive.
