Creating new discounts
Back to topTo create a new discount for your products, click the + New Discount button on the Discounts home page (Inventory > Discounts), as explained in the previous article. Then, you can start entering the required information, as described below.
More than one discount applies If multiple discounts are applicable to the same product during a specific period, the system will apply the highest discount. For example, A product costs $100.00 with 50%, 20%, $5.00, and $80 discounts applicable to the product booking.
In this case, the highest discount of $80.00 is applied. We advise against applying both fixed and percentage discounts to the same product for simplicity's sake. A customer using a discount code will override any other discounts. |
Specifying discount names
Back to topYou can specify a descriptive Name for the discount (e.g., June Special), which can be a maximum of 50 characters. This is used internally for reporting and is seen by the Customer on their invoice.
Be sure to give your vouchers and all discounts descriptive names to help you find them in internal reports, for example, Summer Promo 10% Per Booking, After Tax. |
Determining discount amounts

Configuring discount periods
Back to topWith the Discount period setting, you can set when the valid date range for the discount.
• Always Valid
By default, the Discount period is set to be Always valid. This is a permanent discount that is not defined by date.
• Date Range
You can turn off the Always Valid switch to show the Date Range field. Using the date picker, you can choose a start and end date from the displayed fields.
If the date range is not set, the discount is always valid.
The discount date range applies to a booking's start and end dates, not the date that the booking is created. Ensure that the booking dates are within the discount's active date range. |
• Applicable Days
You select which days of the week the discount applies. For example, if you want the discount to apply only on Tuesdays and Thursdays between June 14th and July 14th, 2024.

Back to topWith the How to use this discount setting, you can choose the type of discount you create. You can choose from a discount code or voucher code.
• Creating discount codes

You can leave the Discount field blank if you don't want to require a code to apply the discount. In this case, the discount is applied automatically to all applicable products.
The discount code should be alpha-numeric and not contain any spaces.
This code can be used by multiple customers more than once.
Products do not support applying an open discount at this time. |

Selecting how to apply discounts
Back to topFor those using discount codes or voucher codes, you need to select how to apply the discounts.
• Per Product, Per Quantity Booked
A discount is applied to each applicable product added to the booking.
The discount is calculated based on the current price and quantity of each applicable product booked.
For example, a discount of $5.00 for each applicable product booked (x3) = $15.00.
• Per Booking, After Tax
The discount is applied to the order subtotal after tax. For example, ($100 + 5% tax) - $10 discount = $95.00
• Per Booking, Before Tax
The discount is applied to the subtotal before tax. For example, ($100 - $10 discount) + 5% tax = $94.50
If a 100% discount is offered, the Customer is still responsible for the taxes if the discount is set to per booking after tax. If set to per product, the Customer does not owe anything upon checkout. |
