Before you close your Checkfront account, save a copy of your data. Once your account is closed, access to your booking history and Customer information is no longer be available. This article explains Checkfront's data retention policy and walks you through exporting your account data in advance.

Data retention after closing your account
In accordance with our data retention policy, all your data is deleted from the system upon account closure. This includes bookings/customer data, inventory, associated media, and statistics.

Exporting your data
Before closing your account or at any time during your subscription, you may export all of your data.
- Go to (Manage > System > Database > Export).
- Enter your account credentials in the Login and Password fields on the Export System Data page (if prompted).
- Click the Download button to start the export.
- Once processed, the export is emailed to your account's email address. Click the secure link included in the message to access your export.

The system database export is meant for external applications This System Database Export (Manage > System > Database > Export) is a raw XML data file intended for other booking applications to read and use. For more viewer-friendly access to this data (for instance, a Microsoft Excel spreadsheet or PDF), we recommend that you individually export your Reports or the Customers Directory (Customers > Directory).
