Understanding product closures in Checkfront helps you define when offerings are unavailable for booking, giving you control to block off dates for maintenance, holidays, or other periods and keep your availability accurate.

What is a product? A product represents the goods, experiences, or services you offer for sale. |
About product closures
With Product Closures, you can close product availability on select dates. You can remove availability for all days or for specific days within the specified period.
Creating product closures
To add a new product closure, click on the Create Closure button in the top right-hand corner of your Product Closures page. We delve into more detail in the next article: Adding Product Closures.
Working with your Product Closures list
You can manage your existing product closures from the list on the Product Closures page.
The system displays the following information and actions for each product closure:
| Value | Description |
| ID | This value is the unique identifier of the product closure. |
| Edit Product Closure |
This value is the edit product closure option. Click on the pencil icon next to the product closure ID to open the product closure modal in edit mode. |
| Product Applied to |
List of products to which the product closure is applied. Do you have a long list of associated products? Hover over the column header to select and drag the column so it is wide enough to view the entire list. |
| Name | This value is the product closure name. |
| Start Date | This value is the start date of the product closure. |
| End Date | This value is the end date of the product closure. |
| Applicable Booking Days | The days the product closure is applicable, e.g., Everyday, Weekdays, Weekends, or Custom. |
| Status |
This value indicates the product closure status.

| Timeslots | Communicates which timeslots a product closure applies to. |
Filtering the product closures list
You can filter the Product Closures list to update the results displayed using any combination of the following filters:

Filter product closures by status:

| Category | Filter product closures by custom product categories. For example: Tours, Activities, or Rentals. |
| Date |
Filter product closures by date range. Filter using the following presets:
If you select the Custom option, you can enter a date range or select one from the calendar picker. |
Sorting product closures
You can sort the list of product closures by clicking any column header in ascending (↑) or descending (↓) order. For example, you can sort the list by start date, with the earliest (↑) or latest (↓) product closures displayed first.
Turning product closures on or off
You can turn product closures on or off by toggling the status setting next to the product closure you need to deactivate.
Frequently Asked Questions

Can Staff create a booking for a product that has an applied closure?
No. A product closure overrides all existing availability for the product(s) it applies to, including both Staff and Customer bookings.
