What is an asset?
Assets are the resources, such as equipment, transportation, or spaces, that your product relies on to provide Guests with an experience.
The distribution of these resources ultimately determines the availability of the product you are offering. For example, kayak rentals depend on the number (quantity) of kayaks you have in inventory, or bus tours rely on the seating capacity of each bus. With the assets feature, you can:
- Specify each asset's category, quantity, and capacity.
- Configure assets for Customers to book privately or publicly, for example, private kayak rentals vs. public bus tours.
- Configure assets to be restricted to a single product or shared across multiple products.
- Configure how assets are allocated to guests, for example, Adults need seats on bus tours, but babies don't.
You can organize your assets into custom categories that reflect your inventory, for example, a category for kayaks if you rent kayaks or provide kayak lessons.
You can have multiple asset categories, each grouping related asset pools and their underlying assets, based on your business needs.
We discuss this in more detail in future articles.
|
Use case example For example, you can configure a kayak rental to require a kayak, paddles, and a life jacket. Once the product is booked, Staff can assign the type/size of kayak, paddle and life jacket from the Daily Manifest, most commonly when the Guest checks in. |
