Configuring general form field settings
The General tab houses the basic field settings for your Guest Form field.
Specifying field types
Common HTML input elements include text, select, radio buttons, and checkboxes.
Some fields require additional options, which the Customer can choose during checkout. An example would be a dropdown menu of choices.
Choosing the Dropdown Select field allows you to ask your Customer a question and provide them with a list of possible answers.
Depending on the type of field you select, the Options tab updates to enable further customization.
You can edit these field-type settings to reflect your requirements.

Entering field labels
This label is next to the field on your booking form and invoices. Examples of commonly used labels are Name, Email, or Phone.
Providing field IDs
A unique ID - can be used in email notifications and CSS (alpha-numeric).
The system reserves the following fields, so you cannot use them as custom field IDs on the Guest Form.
| Value | Default label | Description |
| guest_name | Guest Name |
The Guest's full name (first and last) is the default field for collecting this information. If needed, you can replace this with both guest_first_name and guest_last_name. Past booking information is retained and reportable. |
| guest_first_name | First Name | First name of the Guest. |
| guest_last_name | Last Name | Last name of the Guest. |
| guest_email | Guest e-mail address. | |
| guest_phone | Phone | Phone number of the Guest |
| guest_address | Address | Street address of the Guest. |
| guest_city | City | Guest city of residence. |
| guest_country | Country |
Guest country code. Dropdown with detected country auto-selected. |
| guest_region | State / Province |
Guest state or province. Dropdown with detected region auto-selected. For the regions to appear in the dropdown, you must also use the guest_country field. If you do not, then the field does not populate properly. |
| guest_postal_zip | Postal / Zip |
Postal or zip code. The label of the matching Booking Form field automatically changes based on the selected country; custom field substitutions do not. |
Entering report labels
You can enter the field name to display within internal reports.
Adding short descriptions/tips
This is an optional, short description that is displayed underneath the field. Use this to provide your Customers with instructions on how to fill out the field.
