How do I make my item available for select dates only? (Classic Items)

Want to control exactly when you can book an item? With Classic Items in Checkfront, you can make any item available only on specific dates, rather than always on or fully open. This feature is helpful for seasonal offerings, special events, or limited-time availability.

Which Checkfront version supports this feature - Classic Items, Classic Products, or both?

• Your account must have access to classic items (Inventory > Items), a key feature of our Classic Items version of Checkfront. 

If your item is unavailable most of the time but you have a specific date or date range when it needs to be available, set it to unavailable by default, then create a seasonal-type item event to make it available for the date(s) you want.

1. Select Inventory > Items from the top menu within your account.
2. Choose to add a new item (+ New Item) or edit an existing item, navigating to the Pricing tab within the Item Builder/Editor. Make sure you save your item!
3. Under Default Calendar Status, choose Unavailable.
4. Then, under the Item Events section, choose to Create New Item Event, and select Seasonal Item Event from the dropdown menu.
5. Next, fill out the New Seasonal Item Event form, specifying Applicable Days, Start and End Dates, Categories, and/or Items, and then click the Save button to save your item event.
6. Finally, click the Preview option to preview your item calendar. Note that the item is only available for booking during the Seasonal Event period you specified!
