What are the general and notification settings?
General settings offer additional control over how your waivers and documents function within the booking process, including in-page messaging, side navigation behavior, age validation, and document retention settings.
Notification settings define the message text and format for email notifications sent to guests about waivers and documents.
Configuring general settings
Several general settings are available in the Documents feature.
- Go to Bookings > Waivers & Documents and click the Settings link.
- By default, the system displays the General tab.
- Customize the message that appears at the top of the Required Documents page with helpful instructions for your Customers.
- Confirm that you want to allow viewers to navigate quickly through the waiver or document using the sidebar field links using the Sidebar Quick Navigation toggle.
- If you turn on this setting, the Guest can skip to a later step by clicking it in the list, as shown above.
- If turned off, however, the system removes this functionality, and the Guest must fill out the fields in order.
-
Turn on the Age of Majority Validation setting (Optional) to specify the Minimum Age of Primary Signer using the field provided. The minimum age setting defaults to 18.
With this option enabled and the Date of Birth field type included, the system checks the participant's date of birth against the minimum age you specified.
If the user is not of age, the submit button is disabled, and the system advises the Guest that they are not old enough to complete the document.
Minor's sections
If you add a Minor's Section to your waiver, you can collect the minor's information in addition to the primary signature of the adult on the booking.
With a Minor's Section, the minor's age is recorded in your system and is not rejected by the system if the child is underage.

- Turn on (or off) the Allow Admins to Delete Documents setting to match your document retention policy.
Once activated, you can delete the document via the dropdown menu in the invoice's Documents tab, as shown above, or when purging records in the Customer Directory.
- Use the Upload New Documents to Google Drive setting to upload documents to Google Drive. If you have the Google Drive integration active in your account, this setting becomes available.
- When the Guest completes a document, the system automatically uploads it to your Google Drive account.
- Click the Save button to save your changes
Configuring notification settings
Notifications are the emails sent to your Guests when they need to complete a document. There are an Initial Email, a Reminder Email (if you've configured one), and a Completed Email.
- Go to Bookings > Waivers and click the Settings link.
- Select the Notifications tab.
- Customize the Initial Email, Reminder Email (if configured), and Completed Email messages as needed using the text editor and available variables.
- Preview your messages using the Preview button next to each setting.

Waivers & documents integration turned off? If the Waivers & Documents integration is turned off, waiver notifications are not sent to Guests. |
Document notification variables
You can add variables to the Initial Email, Reminder Email, and Completed Email notification templates in the document Settings area (Settings > Notifications).
These variables pull document details into an email sent to the Guest, e.g., company name, document name, or the document action to be completed.
The following are the system notification variables you can use:
